WMG Academy: Get involved

Young EngineersStudent recruitment for the new WMG Academy for Young Engineers is now underway and the University will be hosting a taster event for prospective students and their parents on Saturday 29 June from 10am-4pm in the International Digital Laboratory.

Register for the Taster Event.

The Academy will open its doors to students in September 2014 and we have made great progress to date; work on the design and build programme has begun, both the Principal/Managing Director and Chair of Governors have been recruited, and a large number of key business partners are on board.

Of course, launching a new school is no small feat and we are asking everyone at Warwick to lend a hand. Could you help us to build something special?

How you can help

There are a number of ways you can get involved:

  • Tell everyone you know about the WMG Academy, particularly those with school age children.
  • Raise awareness of our taster event on 29 June 2013.
  • Volunteer your time to help out at the taster event.
  • Help us to develop projects or challenges for Academy students to work on as part of the curriculum.
  • Suggest ways pupils could access relevant facilities and research at Warwick so that they become a truly embedded part of the University.

Further information

There will be an information session for academic departments shortly to find out how you can get further involved with the WMG Academy and its curriculum. Details to follow shortly.

If you'd like to get involved or find out more, email Richard Hutchins who is leading the development of the Academy.

More information on the taster event and the WMG Academy can be found on the WMG Academy website.

The WMG Academy for Young Engineers is holding an exhibition of the plans for the Academy on Wednesday 5 June between 3.30pm and 7.30pm at the Westwood Academy. Find out more.
