Computer Science student Kevin Street awarded prestigious scholarship

Computer Science student Kevin Street has been awarded a place on the prestigious Asidua Scholarship Programme. Launched in 2008, the programme - run by leading IT software services provider Asidua - aims to nurture fresh IT talent in the UK by supporting successful scholars with a package worth up to £25,000.

In addition to a paid bursary, the scholarship supplements the academic learning from university with real-life business experience through paid summer and year out placements, working with ICT professionals who are more than happy to share their knowledge and understanding.

I would like to welcome and congratulate Kevin on his outstanding achievement of being awarded a place on our prestigious Scholarship Programme. Each year the standard of applications to the programme increases in both quantity and quality.”

Kevin says:

I found out about the Asidua scholarship when one of their employees gave a short presentation at the start of one of my lectures in term one, and then handing out some leaflets. I sent in my online application, then had an interview and about two weeks later received a call confirming I’d been accepted onto the scholarship. Three things come across strongly at Asidua: a real sense of ‘family’, values that provide a nurturing environment for all employees/scholars, and an innovative but common sense approach to the various projects Asidua are involved in.”

With financial support from Asidua now in place, Kevin will continue with his first year studies at Warwick and will return to Asidua in the summer to begin his first industrial placement with the company.
