Warwick People - David Kelly

David Kelly (1920-2006), the University's first Deputy Librarian, died in June at the age of 86. He was appointed in 1963 and was one of the earliest of the University's employees. His first role in the Library combined being Head of Technical Services with the administrative work which usually falls to the Deputy Librarian. As the Library grew larger his role was entirely administrative. He did the varied work which this involved with quiet efficiency and his personality, which combined great integrity with charm and kindness, inspired enormous respect and affection in his colleagues. David is survived by his wife and three daughters.
