Dr. Hendrik Schaefer, formerly a Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Biological Sciences, has been awarded a 5-year NERC Advanced Fellowship worth £480,000.

His research focus is the microbial degradation of dimethylsulfide (DMS), an organosulfur gas that is considered to be a climate cooling gas.

Dr. Schaefer recently took up a position at Warwick HRI
