The American Educational Research Association (AERA) Outstanding Book Award for 2002 has been won by Emeritus Professor Robin Alexander for his book Culture and Pedagogy: international comparisons in primary education (Blackwell). This is the first time that this prestigious award has been won by a British scholar. Formerly at the Institute of Education, Robin Alexander is currently Visiting Professor of Education and Fellow of Hughes Hall at Cambridge University.
