Warwick People - Peter Marshall

Peter Marshall, of the Department of History, was nominated for the Longman-History Today Book of the Year Award 2003, given for an author's first or second book, written in English on any aspect of history. Winning books are deemed to have "contributed significantly to making the subjects accessible and rewarding to the general reader of history, and displayed innovative research and interpretation in its field".

My Beliefs and the Dead in Reformation England (Oxford University Press, 2002) was shortlisted and highly commended by the judges (Professors Jeremy Black, Mark Mazower and Miri Rubin), being described at the awards ceremony as "a beautifully-written social history of religion in the reformation period".
