Rosemary Gilmore has been appointed to the post of Director of IT Services.

Position
Director of IT Services

Which means?
Heading a department providing IT facilities for teaching, learning, research, and admin, and supporting over 20,000 staff and students. So lots of exciting developments and plenty of challenges.

Life before Warwick
Sampled life as an Investment Analyst before going into IT. Prior to Warwick worked at Lancaster University.

Best Thing about Working at Warwick
Always something new on the horizon (and the campus wild-life environment).

People are always surprised to learn this about me, but...
I was caught up in the last days of the ‘Prague spring’ in 1968 when my student work experience in Czechoslovakia was cut short by the arrival of the Soviet army.

As a young child what did you want to be as a "grown-up"?
None of the things on offer to girls at that time!

Major achievement to date?
Helping create UCISA, the national HE forum for IT - and creating IT Services in 1998.

What do you treasure most?
Independence.

Any hidden talents?
Lapsed cello player.
