Gayle Vickers, a graduate of the University of Warwick, has a dream opportunity to play for the England Lacrosse team in Australia. However, Gayle still needs to raise more funds to help make her dream become a reality.

Gayle, a fitness instructor at the University of Warwick Sports Centre, will join the England Lacrosse squad on a tour of Australia (Perth, Melbourne and Sydney) between 5-28th July 2004. Although the tour will involve Gayle playing in matches against Australian clubs and colleges she will also be representing England in test matches against Australia. Further selection from this tour will hopefully lead to Gayle being chosen to represent England in the 2005 World Cup in Baltimore, USA.

The University of Warwick has already agreed to give Gayle a significant part of the funding for this once in a lifetime opportunity. The University’s contribution will pay towards the cost of attending weekly and weekend training sessions (commuting from Warwick to London), the cost of tour kit and uniform and also costs of flights and accommodation (quoted price for flights alone is £1500).

Despite the University of Warwick’s generous donation Gayle still needs funding to help cover her total costs. Anyone wishing to help Gayle achieve her dream should contact Terry Monnington in the University of Warwick Sports Centre on ext: 24639.
