E-Learning Consultant Cycles Coast to Coast

Stuart Sutherland, an e-learning consultant in the MBA Learning Resources Development Unit at Warwick Business School, recently undertook a 146 mile coast-to-coast cycle ride from Whitehaven on the West coast to Tynmouth on the East. The ride was in aid of Nurse Learning – a charity set up to help develop the online learning resource www.cancernursing.org/ - and the aim was to raise cash and awareness of the online courses the site provides.

Stuart’s involvement with the site dates back to 2003 when he carried out work with his colleague Ray Irving to establish a new online learning resource providing cancer nursing education. The project began as a UK-based voluntary project comprising health professionals and Stuart and Ray and aimed to provide high quality online courses for health professionals and carers of people living with cancer throughout the world. The project was so successful that they subsequently set up a charitable limited company, Nurse Learning, in order to develop the site into something long term and sustainable. To date, over 5,600 health professionals from over 60 different countries have registered as learners with the site.
