GP specialist appointed to role with National Diabetes Audit

”ProfessorProfessor Roger Gadsby MBE has been appointed GP clinical lead for the National Diabetes Audit (NDA).

Roger will play a crucial role in ensuring the audit, the largest of its kind in the world, continues to provide key information about diabetes care and outcomes that is vital to improving patient care in England and Wales.

Alongside his diabetes education and research role at Warwick Medical School, he has been heavily involved with many national academic and health institutions and has spent over 30 years as a practicing GP. Roger has an MBE for services to medicine and diabetes care.

Speaking on his appointment to the NDA, which is managed by the Health and Social Care information Centre in partnership with Diabetes UK and commissioned by the Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership, Roger said:

I am very excited to be working for the national diabetes audit, to raise its profile in primary care and to use its information to promote improvements in care for people with diabetes in primary care.
