Warwickshire Open Studios, the county’s largest free visual arts event is now taking place annually and University employee Amanda Glanville (Arts Centre Box Office) will be joining artists in 15 other Coventry venues as part of the new Coventry Art Trail.

Amanda, who is a Glass Bead Maker will be opening her home in Mount Street, Chapelfields on all three weekends of the Open Studios (Sat 29 June – Sun 14 July 2013) and alongside her jewellery she will be featuring dramatic large glass panels made by Mount Street neighbour Adam Hussain and gently toned ceramics for the garden and home by Stratford-based Robin Wade.

Amanda said:

'This is the first time I’ve exhibited from home and it’s great that I’m part of such a big Coventry trail. If you’re planning a visit, there are at least 5 other venues in walking distance, including The Weaver’s Workshop in a beautifully restored medieval building in Spon Street, as well as an illustrator and an upcycled furniture workshop both based in Earlsdon’

‘I’m also exhibiting at a second venue and for one day only at Chedham’s Yard in Wellesbourne the mini time-capsule museum which won the BBC’s Restoration Village Competition in 2006, The Open Studios Day is Saturday 13 July when entrance to the Yard will be free. My fellow exhibitors will be popular ceramics artist Ros Ingram, who is well known for her quirky fish which combine old tools and tins and Liz Dixon a sculptor with the unusual technique of incorporating old lace and linen into her work.’
