Dear Colleagues

I am delighted to announce that following the recent recruitment exercise, Sue Bennett has been appointed as the Director of Careers and Student Employability. This is a new post resulting from a review of the functions and services currently delivered through the Careers Centre, the Centre for Student Development and Enterprise (CSDE), Warwick Volunteers and Disability Services, within Student Services.

Sue has been with the University since November 2006 in the position of Director of the Learning and Development Centre. She joins Careers and Student Employability having successfully reshaped the LDC to fully integrate academic and non academic learning and development providing a wide range of development opportunities for staff. Her experience in skills development and change management will be key in her new role.

Colleagues in the Careers Centre, CSDE, Warwick Volunteers and Disability Services have been working ever more closely since the review was concluded. Given the vital contribution that all of these areas make to the student experience, I have agreed that Sue should take up her new post from Monday 18 May 2009. Sue will lead the development of the strategic vision for careers, employability and skills development and the design and implementation of a fully integrated and sustainable service team.
