Warwick People - Julia Khan

juliakhan.jpgDr Julia Khan recently retired from the Directorship of the Centre for English Language Teacher Education (CELTE), a position she has held since its inception in 1983. Since then, under her guidance, CELTE has grown hugely to incorporate a diverse but interconnected range of activities. These include research, PhD and EdD programmes, six Masters courses, a rich variety of tailor-made short courses, large pre-sessional and in-sessional programmes of academic English support, and the Warwick English Language Test.

Dr Khan has been at the forefront of many of these developments and has played an active role in sustaining all aspects of CELTE’s work. She will be remembered for her unstinting commitment and thoughtfulness and concern for collegues and students alike. Her colleagues will miss her and wish her a very happy retirement.
