Peter Jewel, Assistant Director and currently Acting Director of the Centre for English Language Teacher Education (CELTE), is to retire from the University at the end of March. Peter has been a leading member of the Centre for many years and under his care Short Courses have grown into a major programme, welcoming international groups to the University all year round. Each year, over a dozen groups of professionals and students attend bespoke courses such as Chinese teacher-trainer training, Hong Kong business-student internships, and Japanese language and cultural programmes.

Peter’s colleagues will greatly miss his warmth and dynamism. They wish him a very happy retirement and hope that he will enjoy having more time for his ongoing practice and research in Counselling, and his many musical activities.
