Warwick Student Wins Place on Exclusive China Synergy Programme

Valerie Yating He, a WBS student, has won a place on this year's China Synergy Programme. Places on the Programme are highly sought after owing to the stringent selection criteria.

The Programme offers students of ethnic Chinese origin (paternal or maternal) to enjoy a range of experiences in China and learn about the current socio-economical, technological and cultural development of China.

Applicants had to demonstrate:

  • outstanding scholastic achievements
  • exceptional talents or achievements in non-academic areas (e.g. sports, music, arts or general creativity, etc.),
  • leadership qualities as demonstrated in involvement in extra-curricular activities and/or community services

This year's annual China Synergy Programme for Outstanding Youth consists of a series of exploration and exchange activities, which will be held in various major cities in mainland China. The Programme aims at providing an opportunity for outstanding Chinese youths to learn about the current socio-economical, technological and cultural development of China. During their sojourn in the Chinese cities, delegates will have chances to meet people from different circles, ranging from distinguished persons to local residents. Their knowledge of the history and traditions of China will be much enlightened.
