The University will officially close from Friday 23 December 2011 and will re-open on Tuesday 3 January 2012.

Although many students have gone home for the festive period, there are a host of activities and facilities available at the University of Warwick for resident staff, students and the local community.

Should there be exceptional reasons for staff wanting to gain access to University buildings during this period they should contact the Security Gatehouse (ext. 22083) to make suitable arrangements.

University House will be closed from 6pm on Saturday 24 December 2011 to 7am on Monday 26 December 2011. At all other times University House will remain open to allow students access to the Learning Grid. Staffing at the Learning Grid will be 12 noon to 6pm daily during the vacation period. The Student Reception, University House, will be closed for the Christmas Holiday from 3pm on Thursday 22 December 2011 until 9am on Tuesday 3 January 2012.

The Library will close at midnight on Thursday 22 December 2011 and re-open from 11:30am until 6pm on the following days:

Wednesday 28 December: 11:30am-6pm (self-service only)
Thursday 29 December: 11:30am-6pm (self-service only)
Friday 30 December: 11:30am-6pm (self-service only)
Saturday 31 December: 11:30am-6pm (self-service only)

The Library will re-open as normal on Tuesday 3 January 2012 at 08:30am. Alternative facilities will be available within the Learning Grid. The Learning Grid will be closed from 6pm on Saturday 24 December 2011 to 7am on Monday 26 December 2011. Staffing will be 12 noon to 6pm on the other days of the vacation period. Normal hours resume from Monday 9 January 2012.

The Sports Centre on main campus will be open as follows:

Between Tuesday 27 December and Saturday 31 December, the Tennis Centre is open, but all courts are fully booked.

The Westwood Games Hall and facilities will be closed from Thursday 22 December to Monday 2 January inclusive.

The Bridge Lodge will close at 12:30pm on Thursday 22 December 2011 and re-open at 8am on Tuesday 3 January 2012.

The Chaplaincy will remain open on swipe card access from 8:30am to 10:30pm each day over the Christmas vacation until the start of term, as a 'drop in' centre for students who are still on campus - all are welcome. There is a DVD player and facilities to make tea and coffee.
