The Upside of Irrationality, Dan ArielyAuthor of the New York Times best-seller Predictably Irrational, and named by Fortune Magazine as one of the ten new gurus you should know about, Dan Ariely will discuss his inclination towards the study of human behaviour as well as the recent publication of his latest book, The Upside of Irrationality. In this lecture, he will examine the irrational quirks in some of the decisions we make in our everyday life, as well as whether we are ultimately in control of them. Ariely's research has been widely applied, he's worked with an impressive list of firms such as Procter and Gamble, Bank of America and Match.com.

Dan Ariely is the Alfred P. Sloan Professor of Behavioral Economics at MIT. His work has been featured in leading scholarly journals as well as a variety of popular media outlets, including the New York TimesWall Street JournalWashington PostBoston GlobeBusiness 2.0Scientific American, and Science. He has also been featured on CNN and National Public Radio. Dan publishes widely in the leading scholarly journals in economics, psychology, and business. He splits his time between Princeton, NJ, and Cambridge, MA. Ariely received a PhD in business administration from Duke University, a PhD and MA in cognitive psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a BA in psychology from Tel Aviv University.
