Scholarships

The University of Warwick will be offering up to 10 scholarships for partipants to the IB World Student Conference at Warwick. Applicants will need to complete an application form, providing an answer to one of the four questions below in no more than 750 words. An academic reference will also need to be uploaded to the application system.

The four questions applicants can choose between are:

1. In what ways do the arts benefit society?
2. Explore the impact the arts have had on the shaping of culture.
3. What role might the arts play in highlighting important global issues?
4. Describe the impact the arts have had on your life and on the lives of those around you.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

What the scholarship will cover:

Conference participation fee £600
Travel costs limited to £1,500


What the scholarship does not cover:

Onward travel to and from the airport will need to be covered by the participant if not using the pick up service organised by the Conference.

Any additional nights accommodation either on campus or in the local area

Personal Expenses


Conditions

Applications will close on 31 March 2013 at 18.00 GMT+1.

Applicants must currently be in their first year of the IB Diploma Programme. Applicants must complete the application online before the publicised deadline. No late applications will be considered.

All scholarships are merit based. If more than two scholarships are received per school, we may need to contact the school to advise on ranking the submission.

Scholarship awards will be made by the first week of May, and scholarship acceptance and conference application must be made 1st June 2013.

Successful scholarship applicants will be required to become 'Conference Ambassadors' and will be involved in a range of publicity prior, during and post conference.
