Run on Behalf of the Spinal Injuries Association
Run on behalf of the Spinal Injuries Association, 10.30 am 5th September 2004, Birmingham City Centre
CALLING ON ALL SISTERS TO RUN ON BEHALF OF THE SPINAL INJURIES ASSOCIATION
On September 5th 2004 thousands of women will join a host of celebrities in Hyde Park, London and Birmingham to take part in the Flora Light Challenge For Women.
The motto of the Spinal Injuries Association (SIA) is 'Life Needn’t Stop When You’re Paralysed'. But for the estimated one thousand people who sustain a spinal cord injury in the UK each year, it can sometimes feel that way. Over the last year The Spinal Injuries Association has dealt with over 5,000 cases, and 18,000 people a month visit their website for information and to get in touch with others whose lives are affected by paralysis. Their motto signifies the strong emphasis they place on leading a full and independent life after injury.
Please help them to raise funds by running, walking or wheeling in the Flora Light Challenge for Women. All you need to do is contact Frances Lane and request an entry form, fill out the form and post it back to the address on the form, with your £12 entry fee. £5 of that will go straight to SIA, so you’ve already helped us! We will then get in touch with you to let you know about the SIA’s arrangements for the day.
Alternatively you can also enter online by going to www.floralightchallenge.co.uk. The Spinal Injuries Association will then contact you and give you a running vest and sponsorship form
It will be a day to remember, so why not ask your mum, sister, aunt, cousin, girlfriend to join in!
