Warwick Staff Walkers - Meriden Stroll

Meet at 'Let's Not Be Stupid' sculpture
Join the Warwick Staff Walkers!

Socialise, walk for health, explore the local countryside with the Warwick Staff Walkers.

Come a lovely country walk in the undulating countryside around Meriden. The walk begins and ends at a pub (Queens Head), just off the main Coventry Road in the village of Meriden, about 3 miles west of Allesley.

This circular walk, which goes as far as Hollyberry End, comprises mostly pleasant field and woodland footpaths or bridle-ways, and takes in part of the Heart of England Way plus an old sunken “green lane”. There are a couple of link sections on quiet tarmac roads.

As usual bring a drink; and if the weather has been exceptionally wet, shoes or boots would be advisable as short stretches may be muddy. In addition at this time of the year field footpaths can get a bit overgrown, and therefore bare legs are at your own risk!

Distance will be approximately 5 miles and should take about 2 hours.

Walk is for adults only

Date: 18 August 2004

Meet at 6.00pm at the big metal sculpture (Let's Not Be Stupid) by car-park 4A, near the bus stops between the Arts Centre and Gibbet Hill Road. Car share should be available to the start point and back if required.

If the weather is bad check whether the walk is still on.
