Improving Supply Chain Visibility Workshop

A joint Logistics Research Network & Manufacturing Logistics Forum Event from the Institute of Logistics & Transport (CILT).

Making supply chain processes visible and employing fresh analytical tools to aid the identification of opportunities for improvement can be the catalyst for achieving a step change in performance in businesses today.

The objective of this workshop is to discuss the issues that manager's face in relation to Supply-Chain visibility and to present and discuss different approaches to bringing about improvement.

This event will showcase the learning from three major Supply-Chain programmes involving four EPSRC (Engineering and Physical Science Research Council) sponsored Innovative Manufacturing Resource Centres (IMRC). The programmes themselves have been conducted in the FMCG, aerospace and food processing industry sectors although many of the findings and observations have a wider relevance and other industry sectors are encouraged to attend to participate in transferring best practice.

Important Note: Delegates will receive a free copy of the SUCCESS handbook based on the work presented by one of the contributors on the day.

"The aim of the handbook is to enable the readers to gain better visibility of their Supply Chain from a cost and time perspective, leading to tangible improvements in performance. The Supply Chain Time and Cost Mapping (SCTCM) toolkit, introduced in the handbook, will assist the readers to identify areas of waste in the Supply Chain and to quantify and prioritise improvement opportunities. The book provides a description of how the toolkit works, together with the skills and techniques required for its successful implementation."
