Date: Thursday 1 December 2005

Time: Refreshments at 4pm, Lecture starts at 4.15pm

Venue: Physics Lecture Theatre, Science Concourse

Speaker: Ben Davies, Oxford

Sugars are critical biological markers that modulate protein properties. Ben's work studies this interplay of proteins and sugars. He will discuss developments in: methods for glycoconjugate synthesis, use in therapy; Carbohydrate-processing enzymes; study of glycosidases & glycosyltransferases mechanisms; application to synthesis and the development of inhibitors.
