Chemistry Lecture
Chemistry Lecture: Metal-mediated Methods for Use in Organic Synthesis
Date: Thursday 16 February 2006
Time: Refreshments at 4pm, Lecture starts at 4.15pm
Venue: Physics Lecture Theatre, Science Concourse
Speaker: William Kerr, Strathclyde
William outlines a series of new techniques in organo-cobalt chemistry and describes a range of new optically-pure magnesium amide bases systems. He will also examine the non-gaseous olefins in P-K reactions, and strategies for regioselective olefin insertions demonstrating future pathways in the preparation and application of heteroleptic magnesium systems.
