Date: Wednesday 1 March 2006

Relevant to undergraduate and postgraduate students, post-docs, academic staff and all those interested in promoting research careers.

The RSC and the Athena Project recently published a report on Good Practice in University Chemistry Departments. During this event, hosted by the Department of Chemistry, we will discuss the culture needed to provide a supportive environment for male and female academic staff and use illustrations gathered from a broad range of UK chemistry departments.

We will also hear the personal views of two successful women scientists who will discuss their careers.

After the formal presentations you are invited to a reception where you can meet the speakers. Drinks and snacks will be available.
