Dayschool: Geology of the Black Country

Following about a hour in the classroom, the day is then spent in the Black Country visiting several contrasting sites. There will be an opportunity to learn how to observe and collect specimens of common rocks and fossils in the field. Simple geologic maps and information sheets will be provided. The day will suit beginners and experienced amateurs alike. Students are advised to bring a picnic lunch, outdoor clothing/boots and be prepared to either car-share or travel in a university mini-bus.
