Biopesticides Meeting

Biopesticides are pest management tools that are based on beneficial micro-organisms, nematodes or other biologically-based active ingredients which can contribute to sustainable crop protection of plants.  Biopesticides can be highly valuable components of Integrated Pest Management.

Warwick HRI will hold a one day meeting to discuss the use of biopesticides in sustainable crop protection and will explore the challenges of getting effective products to farmers and growers.  Sponsored by AgraQuest, the meeting will be held at the Royal Agricultural Society of England showground, Stoneleigh, Warwickshire.

This meeting forms part of an interdisciplinary research project at the University of Warwick on the environmental and regulatory sustainability of biopesticides as alternatives to chemical pesticides in the food chain.  This collaborative project is funded by the UK Rural Economy & Land Use initiative.
