TURNING IDEAS INTO PRACTICE

Course Objectives/outcomes
To give delegates the skills and techniques to develop and shape new product ideas, gain resources and support and turn them into marketable products by:
? Describing the innovation process in HE
? Explaining how to identify opportunities that match the skills of the team.
? Helping delegates to understand how to get the best out of project teams.
? Using techniques to overcome barriers in innovation.
? Developing an innovation strategy for their School, Department or Faculty
Target Audience

This course is broad ranging and is appropriate for both academic and support staff involved in ideas in the areas of teaching, research and third stream activity e.g. Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, consultancy, industrial research, start-up companies, spin-off companies, licensing, joint ventures, projects funded by the Regional Development Agency.

Session Content
Being able to create new products (whether they are CPD courses, degree programmes, research projects, cross-discipline consultancy or inventions in the case of HE) is an essential skill for all successful organisations. Business, community organisations, regional development agencies and HEFCE all value the ability to meet the increasing needs of diverse audiences. This course will help you to make the best of your ideas; to test, improve and market them.
