Translation & Comparative Cultural Studies Lecture: How to Read Film

In this lecture, Dr Claudia May examines how filmmakers use allegory, symbolism and metaphor in their works to advance their story lines. Dr May argues that filmmakers’ employment of these literary/visual strategies present literary critics with the means by which they can read these filmmakers’ cinematic works.

The lecture is free and will take place on Wednesday 29 November between 2:30 and 4pm in Room H102 – Humanities Building.
