'RAZE' the Union to the ground!

raze.jpgCalling all Warwick graduates… Do you want to relive your glory days on the Union dance floor one last time? That's right, the Union is about to undergo an £11million redevelopment so the WGA are going back to the beginning, 70's style!

For over 30 years, Warwick students and staff alike have enjoyed the benefits of the Students' Union. Union South was built as a social space in 1975 when there were just a few thousand students at Warwick, but now with a population of almost 20,000 students, the Union building is no longer fit for purpose.

The Union has formed the central backbone of many students’ social lives during their time at Warwick, whether it was popping in for a game of pool, a pint of purple or a political debate but, like all good things, the Union as we know it must come to an end....

As Warwick continues to grow and move forward with it's Vision 2015 strategy, so the Union must develop to accommodate and address the needs of our ever expanding student population. With this in mind, summer 2008 will see the commencement of a rebuild project to modernise the Union and make it a vibrant, cosmopolitan and contemporary hub of activity in keeping with the University's proud vision of the future.

So, if you look back with fond memories of your time in the Union, why not join the WGA for one last groovy night as we see the Union out with a bang? Dust off your flares, fluff up your afro's and join other Warwick graduates for a night of disco on the dance floor. There will be a 70's theme band, funky decor, optional fancy dress and you can even stay in Rootes Halls!

This will be the last chance for all Warwick Graduates to party together in the Union before the rebuild begins. This night is just for you, so come on down and make it a night to remember!!!

Tickets cost £10 for entry and an additional £36 for single accommodation with breakfast in Rootes halls. Both tickets and rooms are selling fast so book soon to avoid disappointment. This event is for Warwick Graduates but non-Warwick partners and guests are welcome. Visit the event page on the WGA website to book your ticket and accommodation now.
