Known as '“Mr IPO'” and the world’s leading academic authority on the market for newly issued stock, Jay Ritter is equally at home in a range of other areas of corporate finance and investment and broader questions. A noted author and researcher with over 25 papers published in A class journals, Professor Ritter is also in great demand as consultant, government advisor and media commentator, most recently on Facebook’s IPO. He previously served on the faculty of the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, the University of Michigan, the University of Illinois and was a visiting professor at the MIT Sloan School of Management.

As part of his visit Prof Ritter has agreed to hold a public lecture, entitled “Will there always be financial crises?” In this talk Professor Ritter will focus, among other things, on the causes of the 2008 financial panic and the problems associated with an aging population in developing countries. Are financial crises inevitable and can we change human nature?
