Professor Eric Jensen on the threat facing UK mammals

Professor Eric Jensen, expert in public engagement and the environment, discusses the news that one in five UK mammals, including the red squirrel and the wildcat, are at risk of extinction.

“The UK - like all industrialised countries - is living unsustainably. We are consuming and polluting at a faster rate than the environment can regenerate. One consequence of this is that wildlife species suffer and in many cases go extinct. To save animal species from extinction, we need to make major changes in our individual consumer choices, push companies to do better for the environment and demand more from government such as the mandatory plastic bag charge and microplastics ban”.
