Dr David Brown from the University of Warwick's Department of Physics on the red sun and eerie light across much of the UK today.
He said: "The red sun today is likely caused by Ophelia. As it moves towards us it’s pulling in air from the Sahara and western Europe, and that air has a lot of dust in it from the desert and from forest fires. All of that dust causes the light from the sun to scatter. Blue and green light is affected more strongly, so we lose those colours, and just see the red that’s left."
