TEDx 2013

TEDx Warwick, the annual ‘ideas conference’ organised by University of Warwick students took place on March 9 2013 at Warwick Arts Centre. The event aims to bring people from the University, the local community and beyond together in an engaging day of talks and performances, under the TED ethos of ‘ideas worth spreading’. This year’s TEDx Warwick theme is “Building Bridges” and featured a range of leading visionaries and performers discussing topics from nanotechnology to vertical farming. Highlights of this year’s event include talks from President of the International Paralympic Committee, Sir Philip Craven MBE; vertical farming pioneer Dickson Despommier; scientific phenomena photographer Fabian Oefner and Bob Bishop, whose 'holistic' simulations map the future of the Earth.
