Green power showers installed at University of Warwick’s new student residence block

Director of Estates Bob Wilson and Dan Persaud, director of student support and residential life, help install the first environmentally friendly bathroom pod in the new hall of residences on the University of Warwick campus

A new halls of residence on the University of Warwick campus will feature high quality, innovative , environmentally efficient bathroom ‘pods’.

The ready-made pods come complete with shower, toilet, sink, towel rail, mirror, soap basket and shelf already in place – all the builders have to do is add the pod to the room.

This approach is a more environmentally efficient approach than building the room and then installing a bathroom piece by piece. The pods are produced in a single factory environment, making the construction process far more efficient, cutting down on wasted energy and resources.

Bob Wilson, the University’s Director of Estates said: "We make every effort to care for the environment in all areas of our work.

“As Warwick's campus grows, the Estates Office will always try to cut down on wasted energy and resources."

The pods are being supplied by Elements Europe
