The Independent newspaper has today, Thursday 24th April, ranked the University of Warwick as one of the top 5 universities in the UK and the top ranked university in the Midlands.

It ranked the Midlands universities in the top 50 of its table as follows:

5 Warwick

12 Leicester

13 Loughborough

16 Nottingham

23 Aston

24 Birmingham

40 Keele

The Independent also ranked Warwick in the top 10 for the following subjects: American Studies, Film Studies, Philosophy, English, History, Politics, Classics, French, Italian, Theatre Studies, German, Sociology, Chemistry, Engineering, Physics, Economics, Education and Business Studies.
