Pupils studying A Level Biology in Midlands and Warwickshire Schools soon be using state of the art biotechnology equipment, donated to the University of Warwick's Institute of Education by manufacturer Bio-Rad Pfizer.£10,000 of equipment has been provided for this Science Year project which is designed to bring the latest developments in biotechnology to the classroom. Student teachers studying for their Post Graduate Certificate in Education at the University of Warwick will be trained in its use by staff in the University's Institute of Education, before running practical sessions during their professional placements in schools. Pupils will get the opportunity to carry out techniques such as DNA Fingerprinting and Bacterial Transformation.
