The University of Warwick has just achieved a hat trick of Lord Stafford Awards winning, for the third year running, an award for an innovation developed at the University which has become a thriving business.

The Lord Stafford Awards are the main business awards for innovation in the West Midlands and are sponsored by Advantage West Midlands (AWM). The latest Lord Stafford Innovation Award for a University was has just been presented to University of Warwick "spin off" company, Dig-ePrint Ltd, won ?5000 and a Wedgwood trophy. Dig-ePrint Ltd is a joint venture between the University of Warwick and Integrated Global Images PLC (IGI PLC) and is based on the University of Warwick Science Park.

Dig-ePrint has developed a new high output-quality system to expose digital images onto standard photographic paper that will be substantially cheaper than current systems. At the heart of the technology is a radically new type of digital exposure head, which should allow systems to be manufactured at a fraction of the cost of competing technologies, whilst maintaining the photographic quality achieved by other methods.
