A student at the highly rated Warwick Business School has won a cheque for £300 from the Association of Corporate Treasurers (ACT) for her outstanding course work in Finance. Alexandra Passa, now in her final year of the 3-year BSc Accounting & Finance degree, was awarded the prize by David Parrish, a representative of the Education Committee at the ACT, on Wednesday 3rd October, in front of over 200 fellow students attending their first lecture of the term in Principles of Finance.

Presenting the cheque, ACT's David Parrish said

"Alexandra's coursework was outstanding and she richly deserves this prize. I am sure she will find it will give a real boost to her CV when she starts applying for jobs, and I wish her all the best for her final year of study."

He told the audience of students that a similar prize would be awarded by the ACT to any student at the end of their course whose work was judged to be of exceptional standard.

Alexandra, from Woodford Green in Essex, is hoping to start her career working in accountancy or investment banking. She said

"I am very grateful to the ACT for this generous prize, and appreciate the boost it will give to my job prospects, as well as the boost right now to my finances."
