Canadian economics professors leave University of British Columbia and join University of Warwick

Two star Canadian Economics Professors, Professor Chuck Blackorby and Professor Margaret Slade, are both leaving the University of British Columbia to join the University of Warwick's Department of Economics.

They are widely seen as two of the best economists in Canada. Professor Margaret Slade specialises in Industrial Organisation, Natural Resources, and Applied Econometrics. Professor Chuck Blackorby key areas of research are Microeconomics Theory, Social Choice, Welfare Economics, and Public Finance.

The University of Warwick's Department of Economics was awarded a 5* rating for the quality of its research (NB 5* is the highest possible rating) in the Research Assessment Exercise. The Department was also recently awarded the maximum possible score for the quality of its teaching (24 points out of 24) in the UK wide Teaching Quality Assessments.
