The Times Good University Guide, published Friday 10th May 2002, ranks the University of Warwick as the Midland's top University. The University of Warwick is ranked 6th overall in the UK.

The Times Good University Guide also ranks individual University departments. The University of Warwick has 17 departments ranked in the top 10 of their individual tables, including two ranked as number 1 in the UK in their field (Sociology and Film Studies), and three University of Warwick departments are ranked in second place: Economics, Warwick Business School and Physics.
