Originally Published 29 April 2002

Warwick Business School is launching the European MBA in partnership with the School of Business Administration at Mannheim University in Germany, and ESSEC (Ecole Superieure des Sciences Economiques et Commerciales) near Paris, one of the renowned "Grandes Ecoles de Commerce" in France.

Recruitment is already under way, and successful applicants will commence study this October, when a selected group of 10 full-time MBA participants will join participants from the partner business schools to take part of their one-year MBA at the other institutions.

Participants based at WBS taking the European MBA will combine the 'core' modules at WBS with a choice of specialist electives, taught in English, at Mannheim. There will be opportunities to study cross boundary subjects such as EC Law, Cross-cultural Management, Business and Corporate Taxation in Europe, and the Economics of European Integration and Monetary Union. Participants will then complete a joint project in collaboration with counterparts from Mannheim and ESSEC either in the UK, France or Germany. The project, sponsored by a range of leading international companies, will focus on solving international management challenges within these companies.

The MBA awarded will be from the business school where each participant is registered.

Dr Simon Collinson, Associate Dean for the Warwick MBA, said, "The European MBA has been developed in response to a growing demand amongst multinational firms for MBA graduates with an advanced understanding of the European business context, relevant language skills, and practical international experience."

Founded in 1967, Warwick Business School is one of the most successful and highly regarded business schools in Europe. It has a turnover in excess of £17 million. The current student population of 670 undergraduates, 185 research students and 2800 taught masters and MBA students, come from around 100 countries worldwide.
