Honorary Professorship at Top Business School for Alec Reed CBE

Alec Reed, founder and Chairman of Reed Executive Plc, has been appointed as Honorary Professor at the University of Warwick Business School (WBS).

In 1960 Professor Reed established Reed Executive Plc, which now employs 2,500 staff in over 260 branches with a £407million turnover. In 2000 he established the Academy of Enterprise, a registered charity aimed at unleashing the nation’s potential through the development of enterprise and creative skill, and has written books in the area of HRM as well as numerous articles in the UK press and professional journals.

Professor Reed is working closely with WBS faculty Professor David Storey, director of the Centre for Small & Medium Sized Enterprises*, and Grier Palmer, Senior Teaching Fellow, on the development of entrepreneurship courses at WBS and within the Mercia Institute of Enterprise*, directed by Professor Stephen Hagan.

The Dean of WBS, Professor Howard Thomas said, “I consider Alec Reed to be not only an extremely successful businessman but also a highly committed educationalist. I am delighted to welcome Alec to Warwick Business School to work with us on developing cutting-edge programmes in such areas as innovation and entrepreneurship.”
