University Loses Senior Medical Teacher to Army Call Up After Just 6 Days In the Job

Originally published 27 February 2003

Senior Teaching Fellow Caroline Whitaker arrived only 6 days ago to take up her post at the University of Warwick running occupational health courses for health professionals. The courses have really taken off with 60 health professionals already snapping up places on the diploma programme – but the courses aren’t the only thing taking off – Caroline is also a Lt Colonel in the TA and has been mobilised to fly out to the Gulf region to administer and run a 200 bed field hospital.

Caroline is part of the Territorial Army’s 202 (Midlands) Field Hospital (V). The University wishes her well in her deployment and hopes she returns safe and soon to her key roles in the University’s medical school and Primary Care Unit.
