The University of Warwick has recruited experienced professional Trevor Seeley, formerly a key PR figure in the energy delivery company National Grid Transco, to co-ordinate and develop its growing community relations activities.

Trevor, who has performed a wide range of senior communications roles in the public, private and charity sectors, has been appointed to the new post of Community Relations Manager at the top ranked university.

His main tasks will be to prepare and implement a strategy to build on and enhance the university’s profile amongst local and regional stakeholders, and to co-ordinate its diverse links with local and regional bodies and people.

“We are delighted that Trevor has joined us, as he brings with him extensive experience, especially in the area of building relationships with community organisations”, said Ian Rowley, Warwick’s Director of Communications. “We have an excellent profile nationally and internationally, but we now want to co-ordinate this and build even closer links with people and communities closer to home.”

Trevor Seeley - a full member of the Institute of Public Relations (IPR) - joins the University from National Grid Transco, where he was Chief Press Officer, Sponsorship Manager and, most recently, Head of Community Investment for the electricity business National Grid. For the last year, he has been on a secondment as Communications Manager for national conservation charity The Wildlife Trusts.
