This week John Fitzgerald Kennedy would have turned 95 years old. For many Americans, JFK embodied the American Dream and images of him recall a time when the United States was going through a relative boom period. President for just 1,000 days before he was assassinated, JFK has become an iconic figure. Photographs of the stylish and charismatic president with his beautiful young family are echoed in images of the latest family to move into White House, the Obamas.

We spoke to Greg Frame from the University of Warwick's Film and Television department who has researched representations of American presidents on screen and through documentary and archive footage. His latest research has examined similarities in the imagery of JFK and Barack Obama.
