Triple success for University of Warwick in London Olympics Guide

The London Olympic organisers have announced today, Monday 3rd March,  that the University of Warwick is to be recommended as a training base for competitors in the London 2012 games in three sports: Fencing, Table Tennis, and Indoor Volleyball.  

The London 2012 Pre-Games Training Camp Guide is being distributed by London Games organisers to more than 200 countries after the Olympics in Beijing this summer. Places in the guide, finalised today, are highly coveted. The organisers received over 800 applications to be in the guide.  

The London 2012 Organising Committee is required to provide  guidance to aid National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and National Paralympic Committees (NPCs) in the process of identifying suitable facilities and sites for their Training Camps.  The guidance for the Paralympic Committee will be published shortly.

The Guide helps The London 2012 Organising Committee provides a service to ensure that teams competing in London 2012 at the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games have the best opportunity to train, prepare and experience what the UK can offer prior to the Olympic event.
