Warwick invests 1.5 million UK pounds in Postgraduate Research Scholarships for International Students

The University of Warwick has made a £1.5 million commitment to create a set of “Chancellor’s International Scholarships” that will provide full student fees plus a maintenance award for overseas fees paying postgraduate research students. Seventeen Chancellor’s International Scholarships will be available for 2011/12.

Warwick’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Nigel Thrift said:

“These new awards both reflect and build on the already global nature of Warwick’s student population and our significant concentration of postgraduate students. Warwick has a strong a vibrant community of over 1500 postgraduate research students from 93 different countries”

Warwick currently has 800+ UK/EU  postgraduate research students  and 700+ overseas postgraduate research students.

The new awards will complement Warwick’s current Warwick Postgraduate Research Scholarships scheme which pays the full UK/EU student fee plus maintenance.
