Frequently_Asked_Questions_(FAQ)

Will I get a transcript?

Since Summer Term 2012, final-year undergraduate students are now issued with a Higher Education Achievement Report or HEAR. The HEAR includes the same information on degree and module level results as the old "student transcript", but also incorporates information about your programme of study and additional achievements while at university.

The HEAR replaces the previous academic transcript for most undergraduate courses (for any current exceptions (e.g.MBChB) previous transcript arrangements will apply for the present, as they also will for taught postgraduate students).

What is the HEAR?

The HEAR or ‘Higher Education Achievement Report’ is a record of academic and non-academic achievements which have been verified by the University. Information about the HEAR is available on the Teaching Quality Office's HEAR webpages .

Will it be electronic/paper?

The HEAR is an electronic document, and will be made available electronically. However, students will be able to print copies if necessary.

When will I get it?

Your official University HEAR will normally not be available until mid/late August in the year of graduation. This is the same schedule as was in place for the academic transcript in previous years.

How will I access it?

Your HEAR will be made available to you electronically in mid/late August. The HEAR is delivered through a third-party service provided by GradIntel. Further details about the registration process with GradIntel and on how to access your HEAR will be issued to you on your University e-mail account in due course.

How will I receive further information about this?

Updates will be posted on the Academic Office Examinations web-site, and may be communicated via e-mail to University email accounts.
