Warwick International Higher Education Academy

The new Academy was established in 2015 and demonstrates Warwick’s commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, student support and development. It aims to optimise the student experience and enhance learning outcomes, by involving students across all academic departments in the process of shaping the learning experiences of others as well as themselves.

The Academy aims to transform the relationship between staff and students to one of partnership and co-production, by providing students paid work to collaboratively contribute to planning, developing and evaluating new and existing pedagogy and delivering teaching and learning excellence.

It has already introduced two schemes to identify and share innovative teaching and learning more widely across the University:

• The Foundation Fellowship scheme launched in October 2015 and already has 41 members of academic and administrative staff and Warwick SU Sabbatical Officers who are building and fostering a community of excellent teaching across all academic Faculties and areas of student support.
• Adding a global perspective to teaching at Warwick, the International Visiting Teaching Fellowship launched earlier this month and has already received a nomination from a leading practitioner in their field.
