Module content and teaching

Principal aims

To introduce the basic phenomenology of (linear) partial differential equations and their solutions. To construct solutions using classical methods.

Principal learning outcomes

At the end of the course you will be able to classify partial differential equations and know which types of boundary conditions can be used. You will understand that the solutions of PDEs depend in a very sensitive way on the type of the equation and you will be able to solve the most important equations.
